Question:

I have multiple users receiving an error like this after transitioning to Named User:

What should I do?

Answer:

If you've recently transitioned to Named User and shut down your License Server, the users experiencing this issue may not have swapped over before the server closed, causing this persistent message (even after following the steps here: How to change or reset a license for Autodesk software)

Here's what to do:

  1. Download and unzip the AdskLicensingSupportTool: Click here to download
  2. For convenience, copy the unzipped "AdskLicensingSupportTool" folder onto the desktop, like so:
  3. Launch Command Prompt as an Administrator:
  4. Copy and paste the following into Command Prompt: cd C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Desktop\AdskLicensingSupportTool
    • Note: If you didn't move the "AdskLicensingSupportTool" folder to the desktop, change the path based on the tool's location. Otherwise, it should work.
  5. Press "enter"
  6. Copy and paste the following into Command Prompt: AdskLicensingSupportTool.exe -v
  7. Press "enter"
  8. Copy and paste the following into Command Prompt: .\AdskLicensingSupportTool.exe -r ALL:USER
  9. Press "enter"

Altogether, it should look something like this:
