Should I upgrade to v16?
Desktop Connector v16 brings new features and improvements. However, we recommend reading our blog on the topic before updating: Desktop Connector v16 — Update Awareness
Update 3/21/23: We do not recommend updating to v16 until v16.2 has been released due to several known issues (Known Issues with Desktop Connector 16 or 16.1).
Do you have to install Desktop Connector to use Revit?
No, Desktop Connector connects BIM 360 and ACC to Windows File Explorer. CADD recommends using Desktop Connector if you work on cloud workshared projects.
How does Desktop Connector store documents?
Downloaded files are stored on the local drive, so they take up space like any other locally stored projects, large files, etc.:
