Question:
So you've looked around for information on how to live link Revit models into Civil 3D for better collaboration - but you couldn't find anything. "Is this even possible?!" you may have wondered.
Autodesk's Matt Wunch shared the answer with us, so we're bringing that knowledge to you.
Answer:
Currently, the only way to reference a Revit model in Civil 3D is to export it to DWG or NWC. The main thing to keep in mind is that both models must be using the same Shared Coordinate system. This can be accomplished using the Shared Reference Point Tool.
Once the RVT and DWG are located in the same coordinate system, you can easily reference one to the other. You can also use Model Coordination in ACC to automatically clash the Civil 3D DWG against the Revit model and verify pipes are at the correct locations/invert elevations/building entry points.
