If you are a government customer purchasing licenses to use in a highly-secured, or completely offline device, this guide will walk you through the process of installing local, offline, licenses on your user's machines. It is important to note that when using this method, it is the software administrators or license manager's responsibility to track licenses and ensure that your group complies with Autodesk's Terms of Service.

Obtaining a license file
- To create a license file, you will need to gather the following information:
- Host Name of the machine
- MAC (Physical) Address of the machine
- Serial Number of the software in your contract
- Send a request to CADD Care by emailing helpdesk@caddmicrosystems.com with the information above and the Subject: "License File Request"
- Once you've received your license file (usually within 2-4 business hours), you can move on to the next section.
Notes
If you need multiple files, we recommend collecting the above data in a simple spreadsheet!
Downloading and extracting setup files
- Go to the following link: Download the Latest Local License Manager
- Scroll down and click "Download Now"
- Locate the download and right-click > "Extract All"
- Choose the destination you wish to extract the setup files to
- Click "Extract"
Installation
- Run the LLM_Setup application (you will need to be an administrator or have privileges to install)
- When asked, "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to this device?" select "Yes"
- Click through the prompts in the Setup Wizard
- The "License Installer" application is now installed
Notes
Feel free to look through the additional files included from the download, like the Readme, and Licensing Guide PDF version, if you may not have access to these instructions on the machine you're installing to.
Activating the software
Before you begin, place the license file you obtained for the machine in the desired location on the C:\ Drive. We recommend making a "License Files" folder in the default installation path and putting it in there.
- Open the License Installer application
- Click "Install a License"
- Navigate to your License File
- Click "Open"
- Reboot the machine
- Once the PC has booted back up, open any Autodesk Software (e.g. Revit 2020)
- Select "Use a network license)
- Based on the version of software you're opening, this may also say "Multi-user"
- If you don't see any errors, the software is now activated!
Notes
Default installation path:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Local License Manager
Maintaining licenses
As previously mentioned, it is the software administrators or license manager's responsibility to track licenses and ensure that your group is in compliance with Autodesk's Terms of Service. We highly recommend using a spreadsheet to keep track of the licenses in use, who is using them, and when they expire.
Feel free to use our template below:
Serial Number | Product(s) | Host Name | MAC Address | User | Expiration Date |
###-######## | AEC Collection | PC Name | PC MAC | User's name/email | DAY-MON-YEAR |
You can view the contents of a license file (including the product, year, and expiration) at any time using Autodesk's License Parser:
- Go to the following link: http://www.licenseparser.com/
- Click "Choose File"
- Navigate to and select the license file you want to check and click "Open"
- Click "Submit License File"
