How do users activate their software?
Answer:
Upon first launch of the software after installation, users may get a Let's Get Started window asking for information about the license. There are three options to identify the license type and provide related information. If you're unsure which license type you have, you can find it for your product under Products and Services in your Autodesk Account. See below as an example:
The Let's Get Started window may look different depending on the software version installed.
Versions 2020 and above:
Version 2019:
Version 208 and earlier:
Select your license type

- Sign in with your Autodesk ID, Single-user, or Sign in. Just sign in using your Autodesk Account credentials.

- Use a network license or Multi-user. Select this option if your software is stored on a network of computers. You may be prompted to enter the server's name where the licenses are held. Users will choose this option if they have a license file.

- Enter a serial number. Select this option only if your license type states it must be activated via serial number and product key. Users can find the serial number and product key in their Autodesk account. See the below example:
