How do I install and activate Bluebeam Revu 20?

The steps below will help you install Revu on a single computer. If you’re an IT Administrator attempting to deploy Revu across multiple computers, see the IT Admin Handbook.

Pre-installation checklist:

  • You will need the Serial Number and Product Key listed on the License Certificate sent to the license holder's email from at the time of purchase. If you cannot find your license information, see Find your Revu product key.
  • Ensure compatibility and update Windows: Ensure your system is compatible with Revu on the Bluebeam Revu Compatibility Chart. Check your Windows updates and complete any pending reboots, as failure to do so may cause issues with the .NET Framework and Revu installations.
  • Save your work and close any running programs, as the system may need to restart before the installation is completed. If you are a Studio user, check in all Project files and ensure pending Session items have been uploaded to avoid potential data conflicts between versions. Click here for more information on reconciling changes.
  • Need to keep your existing Revu installation? You should determine if you need a Side-by-Side installation.

1. Download the software from Bluebeam's download center here: Download Revu.

    • A download link is also included in your License Certificate. Be sure to download the edition and version of the software listed on your License Certificate.
    • If you want to install Revu 2019 and below, go to the Download Archive.

2. Open the Revu installation file you downloaded from the Download Center.

3. When the InstallShield Wizard dialog box displays, select the desired language and click Next.

3. The Installation Options dialog box will appear if you have an earlier version of Revu already installed (Revu 2016 and above).

    • Click Upgrade if you want to update your existing software to the latest version (e.g., Revu 2019 to Revu 20.)
    • Click Side-by-Side if you install a new version of Revu to evaluate before purchasing. This way, you will be able to keep both instances of Revu on your computer.

4. Click Install after selecting your choice.

5. Proceed to the activation steps below to activate your software

1. When the Bluebeam Registration appears, enter the Serial Number and Product Key

2. Click Register. If you haven’t purchased a license yet or would like to complete the registration at another time, click Use as Trial.

3. Click Finish when the final installation dialog appears. Wait to start Revu or the Bluebeam Administrator until you click Finish and the last installation window closes.

4. The installation is now completed. You may need to restart Windows before proceeding. Save your work and close any running applications before restarting.
