Issue

Your Ribbon goes blank and all the Tabs and Panels are missing, you may see the following error: 
The Ribbon does not have any tabs or panels currently loaded."

Causes

  • The missing Tabs or Panels are turned off
  • Corrupted user profile
  • Settings migrated from a previous version have altered the ribbon display
  • The missing Tabs or Panels are not be displayed in the current workspace
  • Installation of AutoCAD was not carried out with local administrator permissions
  • Toolset-specific Tabs or Panels (for example Mechanical, Electrical, Architecture) are not available when running as the Vanilla profile, or if only AutoCAD has been installed on the machine
  • Some full AutoCAD version Tabs and Panels are not available when running AutoCAD LT

Resolution

Restore the Ribbon

To restore the ribbon, do one of the following:

  1. Cycle thru the Ribbon stages
  2. Switch to a different workspace and then back again
  3. Switch to a different profile and then back again (Options > Profiles)
  4. Reload the main CUI file
  5. Reset AutoCAD Product to defaults

Reload the main CUI file

  1. Type in the CUILOAD command.
  2. Click Browse.
  3. Select the ACAD.CUIX file and then click Load. ​
    1. If this is already loaded, unload it first and then load it again.

Note: The CUIX file is different depending on the AutoCAD software in use.

If settings were migrated from a previous release, export and reimport them in the current version (see How to import, export, backup, and transfer settings to and from AutoCAD).
